Hallmark’s “The Dancing Detective” is currently shooting in Malta with Chabert and Kemp reuniting for another dance.

Hallmark’s “The Dancing Detective” is a feature film that has chosen Malta as its home for 100% of its production. This production will generate over €1.7 million into the economy.

The production is employing over 140 crew of which approximately 72% are locals. The film will shoot in Malta for 17 days, and will feature Will Kemp and Lacey Chabert as main cast.

The upcoming film takes the actors back to the dance floor in an all-new mystery set in the competitive world of ballroom dance. Phoenicia Malta will be used as one of the locations for this.

Malta Film Commissioner Johann Grech remarked, “It is an honour to see familiar faces again in Malta. Producers choosing Malta year after year is a privilege that we will adhere to with great satisfaction by offering a sustainable film industry that will retain them to the Maltese islands. He added, “Our plan is working and together we can reach the world-class status we aim for Malta’s film industry.”

“Having another production choosing the Maltese Islands to film its story cements Malta’s prospects of building a sustainable world-class film industry for the years to come. The Government together with the Malta Film Commission will continue ensuring that more job opportunities are created for all those who are interested in working within this industry,” outlined Minister for Tourism Clayton Bartolo.

Producer Leif Bristow, said that his experience in Malta, assisted by the Malta Film Commissioner Johann Grech and the Malta Film Commission’s efforts in an ensuring a smooth and professional film-making experience has been an excellent one. Bristow added that he looks forward to shooting more projects in Malta.
